Characteristics of Colombian food:  Colombian food is similar to the food from Argentina, but with a little different twist.  Colombians serve their food in pretty big portions, and their dishes contain very diverse foods.  For example, one dish can contain any food from a piece of steak to an egg over easy or fried pork skin.  Colombian food is meant to be shared with your family or friends.

Mi Pueblito was a great restaurant and I liked how the restaurant was pretty full of people when we arrived.  They served us in big portions and my main dish and my flan for dessert was very tasty.  I would recommend you to go to this restaurant for any occasion: by yourself or with others.

Argentinian Restaurant

Name of restaurant: Marini's Empanadas

Type of food:  food from Argentina

Characteristics of Argentinian food:  One of the main dishes, which is the one that we explored, that Argentinians use is empanadas.  These empanadas are sort of like hot pockets because they have a stuffed filling baked around a pie crust type dough.

English emanada, Pizza empanada, and Texas barbeque empanada:

I really liked Marini's empanada house.  They had great food and the best empanadas I have ever had.  It was also in a good location and close to everything.  I would reccomend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good, casual place to eat with their freinds, family, or just by themselves.

Spanish Restaurant

Name of restaurant:  Mi Luna

Type of food: food from Spain

Characteristics of Spanish food:  Many people from Spain used paellas as their main dish.  Paellas is a mixture of yellow rice, onions, bell peppers, pork loins, and sausage.  On the side, Spanish people use tapas, which translates to "lids" in English.  Tapas is a big platter of many small dishes with side order type foods on it.  Some of these foods included mushrooms, carmalized onions, and beef on a stick.

I had a good time at Mi Luna.  The food was very tasty and I felt like part of a community because I shared my food with my friends.  The portions were not that big.  I think that two people could easily eat one whole paella in order for us to both be filling.  Instead, we shared one paella with four people, which left me hungry when I left the restaurant.  Overall, I would reccomend this restaurant to anyone who wants to go out with their friends and just talk and have a good time.

Cuban Restaurant

Name of Restaurant:  Cafe Piquet

Type of food: Cuban food

Characteristics of the food from Cuba:  Cuban food is very dry and big portions are always served to everyone.  One of the main side dishes used is called a yuca.  It is a root-type food dressed with garlic.  It tastes simliar to a baked potatoe.

Cuban sampler:

I had a pretty good time at Cafe Piquet.  I would reccomend for other people to maybe find another Cuban restaurant to eat at.  This one is also good too.

Uruguayan Restaurant

Name of restaurant: Saldivia's South American Grill

Type of food:  Food from Uruguay

Characteristics of the food from Uruguay:  Cow meat is used for the basis of mostly all of the traditional dishes of the food in Uruguay.  Dining in Uruguay is meant to be shared with friends and family and Uruguayans say that eating in Uruguay is wonderful and fun.  Dishes are always in big portions so that families can share and eat together.

I had a great time at Salidivia's South American Grill. The food was great and they had big portion sizes, which was great.  I was very full.  The staff there was very helpful and accomodating.  I would reccomend this restaurant for anytime occasions with your friends or for a great meal with your entire family.
